Illustrator Specifications

Illustrator:

• Colour named in an Illustrator file must be the same as the colour files used in QuarkXpress.
• Delete any colours not being used in the document.
• Illustrator fonts must be supplied in a "fonts" folder.
• All trapping to Illustrator files must be handled in Illustrator because Quark does not work with embedded fonts.
• Trapping in Illustrator should be 0.8 pt stroke
• Reverse type should be no smaller than 10 pts.
• Wherever possible, small type should be limited to a single ink colour.
• Save Illustrator files in Illustrator “with placed images” as (1 file EPS or TIFF)
DO NOT USE ILLUSTRATOR 7. There are many problems with the way white type is created in this version. If you have submit an Illustrator 7 file, it will require checking every element to ensure it will be reproducible, and will probably have to be edited in some areas to ensure a quality job.
• All Illustrator files that have embedded images should also have original files supplied so we can ensure the quality of printing should replacing an image be necessary.
